I do a lot of 22 shooting (cuz its cheap) every time i go to the range i try and pick up all the 22's i can. I have a sandwich bag full of 22lr cases. but can you guys also use 22 mag cases for anything. I have a 10/22, 22mag rifle, and a ruger single 6 with both cylinders. So i have a couple caseings of each comeing out the guns.

I do believe 6mm use those mag cases.

I've been told that you can use .22 Mag brass for both 6mm and .257" jackets, with the proper dies.

Not sure I would classify it as a "Market".......

But, there could be some interest if someone were swaging those sizes.

I've been collecting any and all .22 LR's at my club, but pass over on the longer ones. If anyone wants them, maybe you could donate them, for the cost of postage.

That's what I would do if I had any.

I use 22mag as well as 17HMR for making 6mm, 6.5mm, 270, & 7mm bullets. For what I make anything over 6mm it takes a few more steps. You have to cut to length if needed, expand the case up to caliber, aneal, then derim just the rim. You also need to almost completely fill the jacket with lead leaving HP or open tip of no more than about 1/8-3/16 or you could make a lead tip bullet. In the larger bullets the jacket tends to collapse if it is not supported by the lead.

there is an ocasional post on another forum where a Guy is always
looking for 22Mag and 17HMR brass.
I believe he trades some 'boxer' ranges pickups for them.
I can't remember exactly who he is, right now.
If you have a large quantity (small Flat rate box full) , I can search him out for you.

Not sure how much market there will be for the .22 LR brass; I got a 5-gallon bucket overflowing with them for the cost of a new bucket. I figure that will last me for quite a while.
