Might seem dumb but what can I use to cut/thin Alox when I'm applying or want to clean up after using it? Any help is appreciated...seems the smell stays on ya' like skunk...Tedly

Gee Ted, I always use Hoppes #9 as my after shave and eu de cologne of choice, it overpowers Alox easily......;)

Have you tried good old automotive hand cleaner? It cuts most anything. As to thinning it, look around on the site and you will find more than one formula to stretch it, thin it, make it dry faster/slower, pretty much you name it, it has probably been tried.

Hey Ted, I use the orange hand cleaner that you can get at walmart, Like Jay said, It works good. The only difference is I like the smell of alox as much as the smel of the orange cleaner, lol Tommy

Hi Tedly,
Get a can of Brake Cleaner and an old dish cloth to wipe up any left over residue.
Cleans it up quick and easy.

I use Mineral Spirits to thin the Alox/Xlox (buy the White Label version, much cheaper!) and to do clean up. Then, I use regular soap to wash my hands....

I simply use warm water and soap for my hands.
Mineral spirits (NOT the new "green" formulations), turpentine, toluene, xylene, and maybe acetone could thin it.

WD40 sprayed on the hands, then rub thoroughly. add a squirt of dish washing soap and lather up. rinse and the poop color and odor will be gone from your hands.

Houshold benzene or turpentine will do the job. Just clean your hands after using with soap. That's all.
