I'm looking to get a trail camera to keep track of critters on my property. What's a decent camera to get without breaking the bank?

I have 2 different ones

I have 2 Bushnell Trophy Cam's
Nice fast trigger speed
Takes good pic's in the dark
But the trigger( sensor) only works to 50 or so feet

And 1 Plot Watcher
It dos,t take Pic's after dark
But it takes pic's every 5 or 10 seconds
Since it just takes a pic , regaurdless of movement
It will show critters or tresspassers well out there
I have it currently set up along a woods / bean feild
I can tell where the deer are exiting the woods out to 300 or so yds

Regaurdless of what brand you look at
Look at the trigger speed and distance
Budget cameras tend to have slow trigger speeds and short trigger distances

I saw a lot of trigger speeds in the 1 - 2 second time range
A deer can pass through without getting on the pic when it is taken
But some are in the .5 second range

Some trigger distances are as short as 20 - 25 feet
Others 60+

I have also had good luck with Bushnell. Get the infrared, not the white flash.

I got a Wildview EZ-Cam for $49.99. It is very basic, but it works fine. It is also the least expensive one I've seen.
It needs 4 "C" cells, and up to 2 GB SD card.

I am happy with my Bushnell with infrared flash, My dad has a moultree and for some reason many of the pictures are distorted???? or in the wrong format????

I had it on my drive way while I was gone it "caught many deer , three house cats that should not be here, What looked like a pine martin?, a bobcat, turkeys , squirrels, and a ground hog which pulled it from the tree? Why would a ground hog do that?

Tips: do not face it into the sun and remove leaves that sun shines on in front of it both will cause false alarms.
