Has anyone used the tula large pistol primers?. Cheaper than winchester. Or am I pennywise and pound foolish?. Thanks, Frank

I've been using them under the Wolf label for two-years, now, and have not had any problems, though they are a bit harder to seat, at least with a Lee hand primer.

One thing to keep in mind when using a component that there is no data on: You usually burn up whatever savings there is to be had with the cheaper component while trying to work up a safe load or loads without any data.

And in the case of the Rex Powder I have, as soon as you get good loads sorted out, the factory closes and supply dries up.

My suggestion is to stick to common stuff that has lots of data and isn't going anywhere. Common things are (usually) common for a reason.

I have been using them for a year or two with complete satisfaction.

I just bought 15,000 of them last week. I shot my best groups with the 44 mag using them. I have been using the small pistol primers since January, I will continue to stock up on them as long as I can get them.

I bought 10,000 of the WOLF large pistol primers during the component scares and used them before getting into my stash of WINCHESTER. Next trip the wife makes to visit her sister...and drives past GRAFS in Mexico MO....I hope I have enough cash to get more. No problem with any of the guns I've loaded for with them.

$100 beats the h*** out of $170 for 5000 primers! The savings would pay for the powder to go with them.
