Both are easy to cast and load for.

44 mag will have more power, and .357 will be more economical on powder, lead and brass.

It has been my experience that larger bores are easier to get good results from, but YMMV.
There is not a lot of difference either way. Get what you like. People will give you stuff for .38/.357 it's so common. .44 not so much.

Probably a hair easier for the .44, but either can work very well up to full power loads with
Keith designs without GCs or any other fancy baloney. Air cooled wheel wts with a known
good lube and known good design (there are a fair number, some are not Keith designs)
will work in either caliber up to full velocity without leading and with very good accy.

I load and shoot both. Like they said, they are both fairly easy to load and shoot cast. The 357 is a little cheaper to load for and has a slightly better boolit selection but either would be a good choice.

One can always load a 44 Mag down to 357 or even 38 SPL power levels, but the reverse is not true.

Easy as pie. :D

I'd recommend trying the 44 first. I found it to be quite easy.

If your plan is to go hunting or maybe the thought is there then the 44 mag, easy decision. If you are just paper punching then the 357, economics on the smaller caliber all the way around.

Personally I would go with one of these:
S&W 29-2

S&W 27-2

They are both easy to reload and you will enjoy your 44.

I guess because i started castting and loading 44 first i would say it is, but i do both and really isn't much difference. Just be safe and enjoy.

I tend to find the larger calibers are easier to find accuracy with. Not set in stone because I have had some wonderful .357's and the K38 was great. Yet it still seems easier as the caliber goes up.
