There were fewer than 2000 of these 24" barreled rifles built. Has anyone here had any experience with them in any of the 3 chamberings. 32-20, 38-40, & 44-40 production totaled less than 6000 rifles, any experiences? Thanks

Thanks; the one I looked at was mechanically sound but it has been buffed to within an inch of it's life and reblued, a long time ago. It had been buffed to the point that the octagon barrel was almost round. Bore and rifling almost didn't exist, just looked like a rusty tube, I've seen many, many military surplus bores that didn't look that bad. Nice looker, outside from a distance, but way overpriced at $950.00, I thought at the time, I passed.
It is the only 1888 Marlin I am ever aware of seeing, that is why I asked.
