Just throwing out an idea to have a new subsection for the "Swappin & Sellin" area. Guess the "auctions" more make me think of G/B instead of something like a swap meet like we have always had. Seems like more of the "auctions" are coming up lately and wonder if they should be in a seperate subsection like the WTB or such.

What do you think, do they detract from the S&S section, or is it just me.

My 2¢,
I don't think they detract from the S&S section.
there have been several in the last week.
many weeks, that are none.
I understand some folks can get tired of them, if there are too many.
I only use an auction format if I have an item that's tough to price or
kind of unusal, giving more folks the opportunity to purchase it.
On the other hand, many folks out there love the auctions.

I on the other hand dislike them
But I am not voteing to get rid of them or move them to another area

As I do not / will not buy anything in a auction on this site or any others

I just ignore them
I just don't even bother to look

Problem solved

But I would like to see any "auctions"
Labled as such in the title

+1

I'll never buy from an auction on this site, and like you I see more of them creeping up.

I hardly even click on Swapping & Selling anymore.

I would vote against a seperate "Auction"section, but I also agree with a previous poster, that auctions should be clearly labeled as such in the title. I must come clean... I have had a few auctions, and I have bid on more than a few. It is sometimes hard to put a value on certain items. An auction seems like a fair way to join a willing seller with a willing buyer.

Why create another place to "click on" to find stuff for sale. I stumble on stuff for sale (usually after it is already sold) in all kinds of places... not just in Swappin and Sellin'. Some can't follow the rules we already have. PLEASE, no more...

Seems to me we should just "live and let live." If you are not interested in auctions, just pass 'em by.

I do have things I have considered auctioning here, for the same reason stated by others. I just don't know what some things are worth, but am willing to let someone make an offer of what it is worth to them.

I really don't understand the problem some have with auctions. They help one to sell a piece that they don't know what to ask. It gives most everybody a chance at buying and it's how Ken wants it. ;)

Some folks would complain about the rope you were gonna hang them with!

I always mark them as such in the header. To not do so is rude!
