Anyone know anything about Cabelas 38-55. Does it have that darned tang safety? At least that's better than that big button on the side. I guess half cock didn't work when dropped from 6 feet onto concrete!
Anyway,Looks neat except fot the Cabelas logo. It sure would be nice if Winchester came out with that model as a standard item.
I really need another 38-55! :>)

Yeah, I looked at one at the local Cabela's store. I don't remember seeing a tang safety, which I wouldn't like since I generally install tang sights. The worst part was that ugly Cabela's logo, and I didn't like the gold ring around the muzzle either, and 1500 bucks? I'm with you, if Winchester would sell it in 38-55 I'd get excited.

Good morning
Why not just buy a rusted bore 1894 30-30 or 32 win and send it to Jes Reboring ?
You will end up with a great shooting 94 that has a proper throat size not requiring fat boolits..

I found that Winchester is selling that rifle in both long and short form. 30-30 and 38-55.
Even rusty M94s cost a lot around here. Add reboring and shipping and the price is pretty close to my dealer cost.

The last issue of "The American Rifleman" had an ad by Winchester for two M 94's, a 30-30 with a 20" barrel and a 38-55 with a 24" barrel. I really don't know but I would bet that both will have the tang safety and the rebounding hammer.

They Do :>(
But, that's a lot better than that big button which preceded it :>)
