I was just looking at the specs for a 45 Colt...

The rim thickness is 0.060-0.011

The length is 1.285-0.020

What does the 0.011 and the 0.020 mean for the rim and length respectively?...

It is SAAMI's way of listing the maximum dimension and the minimum dimension.

The 0.060 is the maximum rim thickness. The minimum rim thickness is 0.060 - 0.011 or 0.049.

The maximum cartridge case length is 1.285. The minimum cartridge case length is then 1.265.
