Well I went and bought some cast boolits for my AR . I recieved the BT bullets yesterday and loaded up some rounds. Since I want a fully fuctional round I started out with 20 gr IMR 4895. I was right they worked the action perfectly but they seemed to be too fast as 100 yard group opened up pretty badly next load will be 19 grs !

Most ARs made the last several years have 7, 8 or 9" twists. This makes it very difficult to get reliable functioning and good accuracy with cast bullets. Keep testing as you may at least get acceptable accuracy. I use 19 gr H4895 plus 1/3 gr dacron under the 225462 in my AR for acceptable accurace and reliable functioning but it is a 12" twist.

Yea I tried them in my 1:7" today still pretty bad at 100 yards, I didn't take the 1:9" out as I was just wanting to confirm fuction in the 20" rifle as well as the carbine. I did have some fun though as I took my Rem 7400 out to blow through some "Soup can" loads. Those Little bullets are some accurate mothers! Though I can never load them to fuction in the 7400. Ill' just load them in the 30-30's . It free'd up some '06 brass for the pet load for the 7400 Lee 170 gr. I'll either keep these Ar casts for short range target/ varmit loads or I might go trade a gun for a bolt gun in .223 Rem. :)
