First time to shoot for groups at 300 yards. The top three are the first ones I got on paper. The bottom three are after I screwed the cheap pedersoli vernier tang sight down some.Store bought 405 gr. bullets that I put in boiling water to get the crappy blue stuff off of them.Lubed them with Alox in my lubrisizer sized .459.Used 26.5 grs. IMR 4759 starline cases Winchester large rifle primers,no crimp.Pedersoli Rolling Block action,30 inch Green Mountain barrel.Lyman 17A front sight. The bottom group will just fit in a 3 inch circle.

Let's see - 3" @ 300 yards = 1MOA! Not too shabby, by any means!

Agreed, good shooting. That's a rife you can be proud of. How about a picture of said pig killin' rifle? Looks plenty good.

Looks like a Roller in his avatar picture.

It's the same gun as the avatar but with a new barrel done by Lone Star Rifle Co.Yes it's a 45/70.It didn't have a rear sight when I got it .I got that one from Track of the Wolf.Still trying to decide which other sight to get.Going to load some GOEX and Swiss 2f next with some Lyman 457132's and Lee 457 405 F's and see how that goes.

That group is for sure a hog killing group. I'm sure you know there isn't any lack of live targets in TX, you just need a place to find and shoot at them.

Hey dgslyr,

Nice group. I've got a Pedersoli rolling block that i belive is the same as yours but with a 26" superheavy barrel. I would like to replace the barrel with a standard heavy weight 30" barrel. Any info you've got on having that done would be appreciated.
