I'm remembering back to reading about reloading in the 30's and 40's and I believe that was made to use horizontally. Had to use light loads or use a wad to hold the powder to seat a bullet. How much you wanna bet a bunch of them were mounted vertically anyway?

A couple of the guys at ARTCA did an article that included the CV Schmitt loader. Floodgate or Pressman can help you. Send Pressman a pm or email and ask about a reprint. I thas history and usage info in the article.
There are several versions of the tool also.

That was a lot of cash in '41 as my dad was working for $18.50 a week.
