I have a 10/22 with a new barrel but i would like to get a 17 hmr barrel for the gun.Any one know whare i can get a cheep barrel in 17 hmr for the 10/22

Not sure if you can find one. I see Volquartsen took theirs off the website. And then there's the whole recall thing.

thats not good i love it as a 22 but thot it would be cool in the 17

You will need to do something with the breach block, as is the base of the cartridge will bulge out. It is common to drill holes in the block and fill with lead solder. Blocks are hard so drill with carbide endmill. The lead deadens the bolt so it is a little slower moving, sort of a dead blow hammer effect.

I guess your talking about a 10-22 mag. I don't think the 22 longrifle version will not accept a 17HMR length cartridge or magazine. I had a 17 Mach 2 barrel for my 10-22 and liked it very well. It pushed a 17 grain bullet to 2100 FPS and would shoot 1 1/2" groups all day long at 100 yards. But the ammo was expensive and so I sold it.
