Guys I have an old revolver that is a Manuel Escodin Eibar Spain. Model 31 Revolver. On the side of the barrel it says 32 Winchester CTG.

Does anyone here know what cartridge I should try to find for this pistol? I am thinking it might be the old 32/20, but not real sure.

Thanks
Steve

Tis a 32-20 = .32 wcf. It should be possible to tell by looking into the chambers, the 32-20 has a slight shoulder and a lot of taper, everything else is a straight case.

Be advised those older Spanish 32-20 Smith copies were hit or miss as far as quality went, or so the tale goes. I'd start low and slow and work up gradually.

I loaded really light for one some years back in 32-20, the gun was mechanically flawless but I didn't know about quality of materials so I loaded light an kept it that way.

A customer brought in one of those cottage industry 32 WCF revolvers for me to work on, back in my shade-tree gunsmith days. It was a S&W copy of the pre-1905 K frame 38. The salient fault was that the hammer was well hardened, the hammer pin was dead soft, and the pin had worn so badly that the hammer would no longer cycle past the hammer block on the on the cylinder release. The cylinder seemed soft as well. I told him what it would cost to repair (55 bucks, I think is what I quoted him), and he decided to keep it as a wall hanger. I wouldn't have shot it on a bet unless it was with a very soft, light load.
