Has anyone ground down a Lee 311-100-2R mould to get rid of the bottom drive band and grease groove?

I'm liking this boolit for a 30 Mauser, and I'm wondering if anyone has already tried this and figured out what weight the boolit would be? (The theory on grinding it down would be to go down from 100grs to closer to the 86grs it should be for the Mauser.)

This is just my thoughts, I would cast some then file the base off first to see what it weighs, then if needed do the same until I hit the weight I'm looking for.
I did cut the g/c shank, drive band, & lube groove off a few cruise missle's, it dropped 35 grs off the weight, 140 from 175. With that small of boolit you may not have to remove much to find what your looking for.
As my only "power" tools are files, once I got to what I need, pretty sure Buckshot would be getting some more money, LOL. Again just my thoughts.

They do have the 311-93 1r boolit also. I have a double cavity I could be talked out of. I also have some of the boolits cast up if you wanted to try some. it is plain base.

I just recently did exactly what you're talking about with a 93gr for my .32ACP.
