I got a Lyman 4500 and the dies and punches to go with it at a garage sale today.
I was taken aback when I saw the poor tool. Half of it was covered in a heavy layer of black **** that looked like the uncarriage of an oil leaking car.

I took the hair dryer too it and got some of the stuff off and removed the die.
I found the ejector punch of the die turned up side down so it much have been spewing lots of the black Lyman Moly lube out the top.

One of these days I will get all of it of. I think there is a nice tool under all that goop....

Yep, boiling is the way to go.

The lube will rise to the top, and after it cools and solidifies, can be removed in one piece.

I keep hoping for such a yard sale find. good for you! If I can ask, how much did you have to give for it?

Mark,
I had to drive about 10 miles there and back so about $4 for gas. The tool was $30 and it included .309, .311 and . 325 sizer dies and two nose punches.
It also had the original box, combination wrench and allen wrench. All are about new except for the ton of goo on the tool.
I don't really need it but I hate to change dies so I am getting a tool for each die that I use a lot.

If you have no need for the .325 sizer, I'm interested. Depreacher
