I have another newbie question.
How do you know if you are getting leading in a rifle? I know this sounds like a stupid question. The only way I could tell If my rifle is leading is if my accuracy starts to get worse.
On my pistol I can see very good to tell if I am leading the bore.
After a shooting session I try looking down the rifle barrel but I can't see good enough to see if there is any leading

If you cant see any leading streaks and you accuracy hasn't gone off you may not have any at all. A patch on a bristle brush is the surest way of seeing lead specks on the patch. You can usually feel leading on the bristle brush as well.

Run a snug, dry patch thru the barrel. you can usually feel the leaded areas. This also cleans most of the powder fouling and by looking from the breech at a strong light source you can quickly see the leading.

Leading is usually pretty easy to see, it is stopping it that matters.
