I scored 3/8ths of an ounce of lead last night filleting some fish , one of the walleye's had previosly swalled a 3/8ths jig, found it inside while filletting , hook was pretty rusty so no good as a jig but it is still some lead for the pot

Let's see ... is it 3/8 of 425 grains?
That ought to be enough to bring down an elk!

I am so hopeless that I got stuck outside a tyre shop a while ago while it was closed. So I went walking around the carparks outside the shop. Managed to get about 2 pounds of lead WW. At this rate, I will be good to smelt in about 12 years! I know that the amound of lead I found was insignificant, but I was still happy.

I even have some of my co-workers trained to look out for them on the roadside. So far two of the guys have given me three WWs between them!!!!

Back when I was working in a restaurant, I was cutting some swordfish into steaks and found a 224 cal 55 gr fmj bullet in the flesh.. that was kind of interesting..

next time, take a set of plumbers pliers.... makes it much easier to pull them off the rims

best to do this at night in the dark. Less likely the drivers will be sitting in the cars waiting for businesses to open up!

Yep, I know of fishermen who take 22s and others taking 24s out with them just for the purpose. They don't have the time to fight, especially for pleasure. ... felix

38 wadcutter behind the eye on Halibut. Then they don't beat up the boat or your legs.

About 10 years ago a retired guy was fishing for Halibut and caught a 300lb'er. He was ready for that had a winch rigged on a boom. Put a loop arround the tail and hoisted her in.
She started flopping and broke his leg. Busted him up real bad! Coasties found him adrift dead from exposure on the back deck a few days later.

See Boolits can save lives!

If you shoot 100gr .32 that is 140 boolits! Or 70 200gr .45 boolits or 280 50gr .22 boolits or........

I road my bicycle over to the blueberry patch today. I found a semi tractor sized WW and a tiny auto weight at the corner of the highway. :castmine:

Got about 3 lbs when I bought $573 worth of tires.

I baled out at a stop sign the other day for a .5 oz WW. The wife walks w/a couple of friends and picks up a pound or so a month.

Where we get tires it's free balancing every 5K miles. Be sure when the wife or kid goes in for a balance, every 5K miles, there are NO ww on any of the wheels. I even remind them to get the spare balanced! That's good for a couple of # a year. 10

yup I do the same sort of thing any rim that is going to the shop for a new tire has the wheel weights pulled first ,

Got 4 free wheels for my Jeep, 3 of 'em had multiple clipon weights on one side.
Inside opposite those weights were a bunch of stickon WWs.
I think somebody balanced 'em without looking inside.
