I was just wondering if Lee handles will fit my Lyman 357446 mould dc? I'm noticing that the handles for Lyman moulds sell for as much as I bought the mould ($25 on ebay). Any info. would greatly be appreciated. Hope its warm and dry where you're at.:-D

Yes, the lee handels that are made for the lee 6 bangers fit lyman and rcbs! I bought a couple extra when they were on sale.

I have modified Lee handles to fit my Lyman 4 cavity moulds. I don't think they woould work as well on my 2 cavity or smaller moulds.

Thanks guys. I'll keep looking for some inexpensive Lyman for the DC. I'll be at Cabela's today and see what they have. Take care and have an awesome weekend. :lovebooli

Modifiying handles, if you have to modify, just make sure the mold closes at the position where you drill new holes.

I use Lee 6-cavity handles on most of my Lyman DC moulds with no problems ! :)

I've used LEE 6 banger handles on my Lyman single cavity, no problem.

You can use them on RCBS too, but they are a little too thick, I used my 1" wide belt sander to remove enough metal to fit them to some RCBS molds. Someone here posted it a while back.

I do recall hearing that there must be some play between the mold and handle. As they heat up the different material expands different. It it was a tight fit this difference in expansion may cause you problems.

They work very well actually on both the double and single cavity Lymans no modification required.

Now, if the Lee 6 bangers fit 1 and 2 cav. Lymans, will my large Lyman handles fit a GB 6 banger Lee mold? It makes sense but....:castmine:

I ask this seemingly simple question because Midsouth, Midway, and Graf's are all out of 6 banger handles.:castmine:

Thanks for all the input guys. What I did was buy a Lee DC and drill the blocks on the opposite side and pushed the pin out. This left me with just the handles of course. Now, I added some washers where the handles attaches to the blocks of my Lyman to make up the difference in thickness of the handle(Lee's are thinner)and what do you know, the holes of both the Lee's and Lyman DC line up prrrrrectly. Now I have handles that will work for both moulds. On the Lee mould I threaded the blocks and now I can use the same bolts to attach the handles for both too. Boy! This stuff reminds me of my R/C airplane days. If something didn't fit, work or was available, well, just make it fit, make it work or fabricate it. Thanks for the input guys. Hope you have a wonderful weekend. God Bless.:-D

I pretty much use Lee six banger handles now and usually, I have to take a flat file to them to narrow em' up a bit, as they're to thick for many molds.

Have to epoxy the handles on some to but when you're down, you've got some good inexpensive handles.

I think RCBS are the best out of the box.. :drinks:

Being a tight-wad (and broke, thanks to all these great group buys) I did the exact same thing that Joel did last year and it worked great.

The Lee 6 cavity handles Fit my Lyman and my RCBS double cavitys although it doesnt work the other way. neiter the Lyman or RCBS handles fit the Lee 6 poppers. the opening is too short. I think i'll pick up 4 or 5 more handles the next time I see them on sale. I think I got the last set for about $12, and over twice the price for the RCBS handles.
