I have been using some Super 38 jacketed bullets in my 357 Sig. They perform better than the 9 mm jacketed stuff I tried at first. The best jacketed diameter seems to be .356 instead of .355 or .354. I am wanting to try some lead bullets but am wondering what diameter to use. If I use a .357 lead bullet, do I have to size it down to .356 or can I go with .357? So far the best results have been with blue dot, but I thought I would try Unique with the lead stuff. If anybody has had some success with this caliber and lead please share. Thanks.........[smilie=s:

G'day. I load for 357Sig.
GUn is a Glock 35 fitted with a HPB (Lissner) 357Sig Barrel

I use 40S&W cases re-sized to sig.
Load is a Lee 358-150-1R sized to .357 over 7.3gr AP-100
OAL is 1.155.
Crimped into the crimp groove of the pill.

IME with CAST BULLETS & the 38 super & 9mm i have had better accuracy with 0.357 dia bullets over 0.356 dia bullets. even when the bores were 0.355 dia . Your pistol my even like 0.358 better you will have to test loads with both bullet dia to find out !

Catch,
The Lee TL356-124-TC cast from water dropped wheel weights worked for me unsized, and lubed with 50/50 JPW/LLA. I was using a reduced load of power pistol, dont remember how much. This load was more accurate than the 124grn bulk rem JHP. If ya want to try some just pm me, and I'll let ya try some.

Next on my list for this caliber is the 358-125-RF.

Typically I slug the throat and bore and size to the throat Dia if possible.

Slugging the barrel is the only reliable way to answer the size question, or you can just load
a few different ones and run some experiments. I would not load more than 5-10 of any
particular load at first, though.

Fascinating question. I have had a Glock 32 in .357 Sig since 1998, but have not shot cast out of it yet. I bought a Storm Lake ported barrel for the .40 S & W to go with it, but don't really like the .40 that much. What I would really like to have is a Glock 24 with an aftermarket .357 Sig barrel for it.

My only load experience has been with the factory barrel and Hornady 115 and 124 grain XTP's. Good luck to you, I'm very curious about your results.
