I built a 10/22 for my BIL. Here's what I did:

Volquartsen Barrel
Volquartsen barrel scope mount
Volquartsen High Performance Trigger kit
Volquartsen extended bolt release
Volquartsen recoil buffer
Volquartsen extended magazine release
Volquartsen extractor

CPC pinned the firing pin, set the headspace,
Jeweled the bolt

Bell and Carlson Anschutz stock
Installed a Pachmyer recoil pad (factory was too thin)
Pinned the receiver to the stock.

Then I had to paint it for him. I think he will like it.

That is just the most awful work I've ever seen. I think you need to hide it away in my safe so no one ever sees it again.
:bigsmyl2:

Joking aside, it looks pretty cool.

Do you do customs on the side? Or was it a one time thing?

craig,
are there any ruger parts left on it?
it might have just been cheaper to buy the volq, volqu, ummm other brand that you changed everything to.
nice paint job though.

Volquartsen is located about 50 miles from me, that place is so clean you could eat off the floors.

He is so proud of the gun, it makes it all worth the effort. Plus it shoots really well. We have been sniping pigeons and rabbits with it. If you miss, it was your fault.

The reciever, bolt and trigger housing is all left that is Ruger.

That looks pretty Bad-Ass.

How much does it weigh and how does it shoot?

you put a recoil pad on a 10-22?

Rich

How would you have changed the length of pull to make it longer?

He won't go anywhere without it. He keeps it in his truck all the time.

Rich you still don't get it. Twice now you have commented on a thicker recoil pad for a 22. How would you extend the length of pull on a stock?

Nice build Crabo... did you do the paint too?

crabo

Yes, I did the paint. I teach Autobody in a high school. The Zebra gun laying on the bench is mine. It starts out as silver and purple and fades into black and white.

I knew if I didn't give him a good paint job, he would be disapointed. His appreciation was worth all the work.

I can understand doing a project like this. Many times I put way more effort and money in a project than it can possibly be worth to others but that isn't the point. Just building beautiful things is what it is all about. Very nice work you have done there. How fortunate you are to have such a great God given talent. -- Bill --
