View Full Version : 7.62 X 25 molds?

Does anyone sell a mold for the 7.62 X 25? The Tokarevs are very popular here in Canada with collectors and plinkers. At present there is a good supply of surplus ammo, but we all know how that situation can change.
I am toying with the idea of buying one of these pistols and using it as an excuse to cast more bullets.

As if I need a reason.

OK, I got it.
It looks like the 90 grain, .32 Lee mold will work. I guess I should surf the web more and ask less questions....

I'm gald that you took the initiative and found your answer. No offense meant.

It seems that too many people are unwilling to do their own research, relying on others, instead. Rant off.

I have a CZ-52 and have thought about casting for it (way down on the priority list) but it throws brass into the next county, making it impossible to find them all.

In my surfing, I saw that one individual had resorted to making a bullet catcher out of some material from a ruined trampoline. He takes it to the range and places is where it can stop most of the brass.

I use the 110-115 grain 32-20 bullet and a charge sufficient to function the action. The empty cases are in a nice little pile. The factory loaded cartridge is a fast, high pressure number, so the slower, heavier bullet functions the pistol well, without leading.

One thing about 7.62x25 guns-- the Tokarev and the CZ-52 are two very different guns with two very different factory load levels.

I wish I would have bought a CZ when they were less than $100.00. Oh well....

I guess I could point out that these same boolits can be used for both the 7.62x25mm and the 7.63 Mauser (7.63x25mm). Obviously making sure you keep both totally separate, and well marked, if you have both caliber pistols. Wouldn't want to wreck even a "shooter" Broomhandle by shooting CZ-52 ammo in it.

I picked up a threaded 9mm barrel for my CZ-52, still ejected a little violently so changed out to a more powerful spring from wolff that helped with both violent ejection of 7.62x25 surplus ammo and keeping my reloadable 9mm brass within finding distance.

I've had excellent results with NEI 85:308GC in the 7.63 Mauser and 7.65 Par. However I've never pushed velocities past 1400 fps in the Mauser.

I'm presently trying out the Lyman 311252 in a CZ-52. After reading the other posts, I may try the Lee 311-93-1R and the Lyman 311008 but wonder how this one would feed.
As to finding the brass, some 1/2" PVC pipe and fiberglass screening works for me.

I did need to put some lead shot into it for ballast otherwise a breeze would blow it over.
