Over the last few days using the search feature I was looking for specs on this conversion.

I have lots of .40 brass saved up and the dies - and I was looking for the specs on .40 as jackets.

Questions I for some reason could not find:

trim length of the .40 brass for weights like 200 to 230 gr.

anneal the entire case or just the point half.

I will be using the core seating, not the one step method.

Give me a while I'll find it.

Quick answers, Yes anneal entire case! Yes it requires the core seat step.

Here is everything I have posted on the 45s from 40 S&W

Jalier has done some really good work with the 45s as well as a few others here.

Good shooting and Swage On!

Daywalker has done a fair share of .45 swaging as well. Here's a link to his trimming thread.

A trim length of .690 to .692 works good with a 145 grain core. Mine end up around 212gr using a soft lead core.

Jailer,

I don't think I have seen the pics of the rounded nose on the final step. Looks good. Love the family pics! Just AWESOME! Have you recovered any?

Good shooting

Not yet. Going to be making a Fackler Box soon and test em as well as some cast HP's.
