Forgot to mention it's a .308 x 10 twist. Went to CBA forum and found that the production benchrest guys (.308)were using 28 to 32 gr. 4895, and around 30 gr. varget for their 200 gr boolits. So, I worked up from 28 to 32 gr of 4064 (I knew it would be safe) and it made a 2 1/4" 5 shot group @ 100 yds. Only had 5 rounds of 30 gr Varget loaded up behind the 314299, sized to .311, and it went less than 2 inches, maybe like 1.8 or 1.85 c to c. No filler, with no effort to position powder charge like I do with 4227 and 2400. Since this was my first cast boolits ever to shoot through my Model 10. I was not displeased. BTW, this is a 1/2 moa rifle w/175smks with a pitiful marksman like me shooting it, and reloading with lee dies. Sorry about that. Now to find the right load, primer, etc. Still want to make a 300 yd. load for my new range. This load printed 1" high, and 3 inches right of my normal load of 44 grains varget/175 SMK. The Sierras are getting too expensive for this poor preacher to shoot, and besides that, casting my own is fun. This 311299 has a .3015 nose from cavity #1, and a .3025" from cavity #2 all with 5 to 1 Lino/ww. Too small for its intended .303 british purpose but just right for me. I once had a 311299 that cast .309 with a .299 nose. Sent it back to Lyman, then they returned it to me with no adjustment, or any explanation. To them, it was just right, I assume.
If anyone has a winning 300 yd. powder charge for the .308 x 10 inch twist, using the 314299, please let me know.

Some way or another coming from Lyman, that really doesn't surprise me at all.
