Hello all,
I am a newly converted lurker here. I am not sure if this is the right area or not, if not please move accordingly. Also let me preface that the search function was tried, but to no result. I am in afghanistan right now the computer dosnt much like the search function as the "server is unavailable" message keeps appearing. The other day when I was off duty, I happened upon a thread that used round balls in a 30-30 for small game. I can't find that thread!!! This trip will be done in a month or so, I will be getting into casting when I get back. So any research that can be accomplished now saves me valuable lead scrounging, casting, shooting, etc... time when home finally comes to call. Thanks for all the help.

Hooah!! I tried using resized 00 and 000 buck over 1.0 to 3.0 grains of bullseye. Accuracy was attained at 2.0 grains. at 25 yards groups were to the right by about 3 inches, but groups ran around .75 inch and were easily compensated for. Noise was around a standard velocity 22lr. You will want to dip the loaded buckshot in a little thinned Alox for some lube. Dont try to carry a magazine full of these as sometimes even crimped I have had the balls move deep into the neck and one went into the case. Rounds did not seem position sensitive. Very handy things to carry for birds or squirrels. Keep your head down, brother.
