so i smelted down about 20 pounds of range scrap today and something odd happened, 6-7 of my ingots refused to come out of my muffin pan, the cups ended up coming out of the pan with the ingots still in them and i had to peel the muffin pan off with pliers and man was it stuck on there. These were all from the same alloy all poured at the same time.

heres a pic of one of the ones that fell free on the left and one of the stuck buggers on the right.

I had some ingots stick with an aluminum muffin pan. I smoked the pans with a torch and no more problems.

If they are steel shiny ones from Wally World, Take some sand paper and scratch them up. Spray some water on them then stick them outside to rust. They will now drop free. I had the same thing happen to me.

You used the tinned muffin pans. I have had good luck with the non stick pans. Not because they are non stick but because they are not tinned. I burn off all the non sticky on new pans then they work great from then on.

Try spraying WD40
