Anyone use or using one of these rifles?
Thanks!

I never used on but always wanted one. They weren't in my budget. They weren't great shooters of what I heard and I am in no way saying they weren't good shooters. Just saying for the price there were better shooting ones but they sure were purty guns and I loved the looks of them. I don't believe they are in business any more though.

Ever since getting Sam Fadala's books many years back I wanted one. Fat chance in NZ. Built an Isaac Haines .40cal instead. Love it.

I had a Hatfield rifle, with a Roman nose stock. Kicked me in the cheek at every shot. Got rid of it pronto.

Some of the Hatfields in flintlock gave some problems as in spring weakness. Don't know if they been fixed. In a squirrel caliber they may not bust the cheek but thier design would lean towards taht feature.

I seen one on an auction site today. Unfired 32 squirrel rifle. Starting bid is 2k.

The one I had was .45 caliber. It hurt. It shouldn't.

They are not worth 2k. You would be better off checking TOW's rifle site. I saw a percussion and a couple of flintlocks for less than that utilizing Siler locks and better barrels. I suspect both Waksupi and I are trying to be diplomatic about our opinion.

Had one in 45 a few years ago. Paid 350 for it in St. Joe, Mo, where they were made. It shot well, and I liked it, but sold it for 450 when it was offered. That was a fair price at that time. Would suggest an early one in excellent condition might (IMNTBHO) be worth maybe 600-650 today.

I agree, they are not worth anywhere near 2K. I know guys that had em', they dont anymore the locks do break and are flint eaters when they do work.
for under 2k I can build you one to suit. that includes carving, engraving, box & the works with all USA parts & a nice piece of wood. I got pics.

I have one I bought in 36 caliber was never happy with it. It does fire fine the barrel is small only a .350 bore. I also fitted a green mountain .40 cal. barrel to it for a little more energy. I still have never hunted with it though I have shot it in competition.
