Has anyone tried punched leather checks? When I get my new CZ hornet I'am going to try lead slugs at reduced velocity. The hornet case should be perfect as the punched leather can sit on the powder under the lead.Still have some sheets of that wax check material have to try that too, don't hear much about that anymore. I have used 1/8” thick 36-cal nitro hard cards under plain base boolits in the 357-mag and 357-max with good results. I think punched leather disks would work just as good or better, but I also think that the time involved to punch them yourself and the cost of the leather would be prohibitive. Although for small calibers like your Hornet I can see where it might be worth it since I don’t think they make nitro hard cards smaller then 36 caliber.
