I have been experimenting with 2/1 Beeswax and lithium grease, on lees 300gr GC in my S&W 460mag and keep random flyers, after a couple of shots i have oil everywhere, allover the muzzle brake and including back in the chambers around the brass. I am using 34gr of 2205 for approx 1450fps

Is this a sign of too soft a lube?

I'd hazard a guess that your lube has too much grease in proportion to wax. Following is the ingredients for MML lube which is a modified lithi/bee lube. It is usable in about everything at about any velocity.

3 lbs - beeswax

1lb- paraffin

1/2 lb- microwax #430 from blendedwaxes.com

1 - 14 oz tube of caramel colored lithium grease (mag1(red tube) or Sta-lube (blue tube) either one works just dandy.

If you don't want to try this recipe, I'd add more beeswax and a bit of paraffin to your existing lube to lower the ratio of lithium grease to was. Likely you can substitute beeswax for the microwax to get a usable lube but the micro wax in the recipe just makes the lube plain WORK.

I use 3/1 with no trouble.

Try reducing the grease proportion and then tryh lubing only the base band, the one just forward of the check.
