I have acess to a bunch of new and old squeeze tubes that grease came in
One guy told me they made the tubes out of Tin
But I .......would think tin was to much $$
But figured I would ask before scraping tham

This subject came up a couple of months ago. The concensus was that unless they are old stock, they are most likely aluminum. Tin would be pretty heavy, aluminum ones are probably featherlight.

Most tubes now are aluminum. Try melting one with a propane torch and see what happens.
Some of the old tubes were lead, some lead/tin.

I just checked, aluminum melts at 1220 and tin at 450. I agree with leadman, a torch to tin should puddle it up pretty fast.

Can you imagine the tonnage in old toothpaste tubes laying in landfills across the nation? Brings a tear to the eye...

Mining old landfills is the next goldmine for some company with the right resources.
