Someone gave me a few anchors such as would be used in concrete with lag bolts. these things won't scratch with a finger nail and ring a bit when dropped on a hard surface. What is alloyed with the lead in these things ?

The ones I got, had zinc in them. If you melt them done keep them seperate from known lead or alloys. If you put in with good lead it takes a long time to clean it and make it good for casting.

Exxperience is a great teacher.

Don't know but as a SWAG I would say zinc. Considering its intended use the lead would need to be stronger but never rust out.

I had some that had a steel core with lead and/or lead/zinc on the outside.
