All the time...
I use the 45-45-10 and tumble lube for .38/.357, .45acp and .45 Colt.
All are lube groove Cast Boolits...
.358 148gr WC
.452 230gr RN
.454 300gr GC RNFP
Shoot them as Cast...

Before on Left, Lubed on Right...

tumble lube, works good. regular lube grooves i had problems due to the bullet not fitting correctly. after that it pretty good. accuracy was still good, but it was also a low velocity load.

All the time. Works well with .25-20 W. (gas checked with 65 grain boolit to 1850 f.p.s. and 86 grain unchecked boolit to 1350 f.p.s.), .32-20 ( 98 gr ), .25-36 Marlin ( gas checked 100 grainer to 1500 f.p.s.) ), .32-40 Marlin & Ballard ( 160 grain gas checked boolit), .30-30 W. ( 150 grain gas checked boolit at 1850 f.p.s.), .38-55 Marlin & Ballard (255 grain boolit at 1450 f.p.s. and no gas check), .375 Holland & Holland ( 255 grain unchecked boolit at 1450 f.p.s. ), .44-40 W. (200 grain C.A. R.C.B.S. boolit at 1300 f.p.s.) and .40-65 W. ( 300 grainer at 1350 f.p.s. ).

Just tumble lubed. Good accuracy. Minimal leading with one rougher barrel and with a home made Lyman #2 type alloy and cold quenched from the mould.

I think it works well with a hard alloy boolit sized two thousandths over groove diameter and not too fast.

Excellent info - thank you all for the replies! Time to start shopping for a nice H&G #68 for my 1911.

Lee Liquid Alox has been in use for decades before "Tumble-lube" boolit designs were even thought of. Most of the time I find it works better on conventional designs because the TL designs often get swaged undersized when seating, causing leading issues. The weak TL bands are at fault IMO.

And don't use the "mule snot" straight, read the "sticky" post in this forum by Recluse who describes how to make and apply 45/45/10 lube, FAR better than using the liquid Alox straight.

I use LLA and JP . I like JP for moderate handgun. It is used straight . Melt a bit and TL If the bullet are still warm the better. Bullets look "purdier "with JP

I have found out with use.
Warm Boolits are best.
Also use less then 1/2 the amount of Lube you think you need...

I had 600 of .357 148 gr WC that had been Lubed, were Smokey to shoot.
I took the remaining 500 and took 100 at a time and added 150 unlubed of the same Boolits, warmed them all with a Blow Dryer, Tumbled and they are still well Lubed and a lot less Smokey when Shooting. So now I have about 1200 of them Lubed and ready to Load....
