I am looking for a new holster to carry my 4.75" Freedom Arms revolvers in. I am thinking about the FA crossdraw holster or a Simply Rugged Sourdough. Any of you guys have experience with one or both of these holsters and which do you prefer? Thanks.

Toby

I have a Simply Rugged Sourdough for my 4" Redhawk. I like the holster. It fits close and is very secure. The only thing I would improve is gun insertion. It is not easy to reholster, as it is very close-lipped.

I prefer the crossdraw to carry my 7.5" FA83 around in. It also lets me carry a rifle on my right without banging the stock up.

Carry my revolvers in cross draw while working on place and hunting. Either have S&W 357 or S&W 44 mag. i find cross draw is out of my way and a big plus when driving anything. Sourdough holsters work well for me and handle sweat good too. As both are SS i just wipe them down with oily rag to remove sweat and ready to go next day or when ever need them.

I have a Simply Rugged Sourdough for my 4 5/8 Ruger Blackhawks. It's a nice holster but it doesn't have enough forward cant for me and it hangs too low.
I'm still searching for my perfect "woods holster".
