I have a mauser that was sporterized (not by me)
It was drilled and tapped for a scope mount. Is there some way I can find out which one fits?
(Is there some regular?)

If it is a standardized drill and tap. A Weaver # 45 and # 46 should fit it.

These should also work :

B-square has a nice one piece mount that is notched for the stripper clip hump so you don't have to grind it down. It also fits the "standard" screw spacing.

Could be any number of scope type basis... and hopefully not one that has been buggered up by a bubba. If you have a decent smithy near you I'd suggest paying him a visit and seeing if he has a selection of 98 mauser type scope bases on hand - new or in a "junk box" and see what lines up. That's pretty much where you will be at to make sure you get it spot on.

4 holes probably Weaver two piece, 3 holes Leupold or Redfield one piece. Gtek

That weaver looks like the ticket. Does anyone have one of these?
Would you mind measuring the screw hole spacing?
(or does anyone know it?)

No matter what it was meant to fit, if you are extremely lucky it was drilled with standard spacing so any mount will work.

I measured a Leupold base meant for Mauser 95 & 98 actions. The front hole spacing is .860" with the third hole 4.3" behind the second hole.

I believe the front hole spacing of .860" is fairly standard, the rear spacing for Weaver mounts is usually .500" but their are some that are closer together. Also if you use the Weaver mounts some require trimming one corner, if you don't cut the charger guide down.

Hope this helps.

If it is non-standard, you can get a gunsmith to measure your hole spacing, and drill and fit a raw Weaver rail to your action. A little ugly, but no further modification to your gun, unless the clip slot is to big to have the rail relieved for.
