A beautiful day in SW MT. Sky so blue it hurt to look at, 28*F, and about 30 mph breeze. Well 1 out of 3 ain't so bad. I go to the local range [2 wooden benches with target stands at 100 & 300 yards, bush at 25 yds] and shot 243 with good groups of RCBS 95 grfn over 12.6-14 gr 2400. I think I will stick with 13 gr.
7.62x39 Handi Rifle 28 gr 4895 Surplus under 155gr Lee. 25 yds 3/8" 100 yds 4 in 1 1/2" 1 called flier. Shot some 150 Lee fp to near the same point of impact 100 yds. The group buy 311440 will not chamber in this gun with out major throating or resizing the nose.
22-250 Vanguard with WW factory 40 gr @4000 fps rated. [local shop wanted $34.50 for 22-250 brass 100 rds. Wal-mart sale got me 80 factory loads for $39.98] When I got it sighted in the Burris 4x12 was at the end of its up adjustment. I had this scope previously on a good shooting Rem 700 and I may need to shim the front mount if I need more adjustment.
Last was the 22 auto an older Ruger Mk1. I went back to the factory fixed sight with this and filed down the front sight to get it shooting good. After re-blackening it I was ringing the 100 yd gong 7 out of 10 shots off hand so I couldn't have been too cold or just lucky.
We are working on setting up a new range with 100, 200, 300 Meter ranges, 25 & 50 yd pistol and an archery range on some land leased from a local mine. Funds will be a Sportsman club, Metal mines inprovement money, FWP, who operate the Pittman-Robertson funds for the State, and NRA. We hope to add a 50 ft indoor range in the future but it all takes time and money. Gianni.

Like they say, no guts no glory. Gets tough finding days in the cold weather to shoot in the snow, wind-whatever. Any day at the range is better than a day working for somebody else, even if you have to take frequent trips to the car/truck to get warm. The little handi rifle sounds like fun. Like you said, in reference to the indoor range all it takes is time and money, and pleanty of both.

In my neck of the plains, up until this last weekend we had very good winter weather for shooting and things like that. No snow with good daylight. Now we have snow and the cold has finally come to rest for this region. We were talking about this at our Christmas party for the gun club; we could have been having shoots right up until the last 1/4 of Dec., as the weather was that nice for us....we usually stop in Sept.
