A friend of mine gave me some 45 ACP once fired brass he picked up and said they used SMALL PISTOL primers on these shells. I checked them out an sure enough they will not take a large pistol primer and I never have seen these before!
Any one know of these 45 ACP small pistol primers? are they something new?

Yup, they just use the small pistol primer. They have been around for a few years. The Winchester Non Toxic loads were the first ones I encountered. I have seen CBC, Federal and Blazer brass with small primer pockets.(And incidentally the CCI aluminum 45 cases use small pistol primers lately.) They work fine. The only trouble is if one gets into the stream of a progressive set up. It will bring things to a screeching halt. keep em separate and use em.

GNILOP - I think that's the new "green" ammo. From what they tell me, it works just fine for loading. Only diff is the primer size, all else is good. enjoy Mike

No problem.....just use small pistol primers and reload them.
