Does anyone size down the Lee 7m/m or other 7m/m to use in a 270 win? How did it work out?
I've sized down 287405, the Lyman 7mm Loverin, for 270 win. If you are concerned about deformation, lubing them before sizing down will resolve most of those issues.
I wouldn't expect it to work with a 7mm bore riding design. The nose will never fit the 270 bore.

I can get the use of a 6.5 mould, would this work paper patched up?

You can try it. I wouldn't have a high expectation for success.
a) If that 6.5. mold is a bore rider you might have some problems with the two diameter design when paper patching (getting a throat fit on the bearing surface AND a boreriding fit on the nose). You'd be better off starting with a non-bore riding bullet design and patching to fill the throat.
b) I would expect your best chance of success with smokeless paper patched bullets in a 270 Win to be with a pre-patched bullet diameter of something in the range of .270-.271 (bore diameter to very slightly larger). I haven't seen many 6.5 molds that throw that large.
If you want to shoot cast in a 270 you'd be better off picking up an off the shelf RCBS 270-150-SP mold, or the one offered by SEACO.

Morme tried it in the 6.8spc, but he got better accuracy with a .278 than the sized 7mm boolits. I think the 6.8 group buy is still open, but they may be a little light for the .270win.
