Posting for a cousin, does anyone paper patch for the 6.5 jap? What weight bullet , what alloy ,loads etc. Keep trying to get him to get a computer but he says why, when he has me to post for him. LOL [smilie=l:
He did slug the barrel and it came out .268

Might I suggest starting the same post under smokeless paper patching. You'll get more coverage there.

That .268 is about the norm for the groove diameter on them, though they vary. There's a group buy going on for a 145gr 6.5 bullet. http://castboolits.gunloads.com/showthread.php?t=116328 if your cousin would prefer to skip the paper patching. Probably won't run for awhile, but something for him to keep in mind, it's a good shape, ought to feed well in the type 38. I recently got one their 160gr roundnose bullets, so no paper patching for me.

BaBore's 140 gr shoots very well for me in 3 of my swede's & iirc drops at 0.268. His 6.5 kurtz (129 gr ) also drops at 0.268, just hav'nt worked with it a lot. Either should work for him in the jap.
