I think I did good! A Clayton & Lambert Plumbers Pot for $20, It is real clean. plunger is free, inside is clean, knobs turn. Has been sitting shelf in a basement for 30+ years. The guy that I bought it from said his dad used it only for casting sinkers.

Does anyone have any idea what the process is to get this thing fired up. I am assuming that it is like a Coleman lantern. Don't want to have big explosion. Will try it in middle of driveway away from all buildings.. Anyone possibly have a copy of the operating instructions...

This site is awesome, someone here always has the answers. The guy restoring the unit sure has more work to do on his pot than I will have on mine. My unit is in really good shape compared to the one he restored. Hopefully someone here will have a copy of the users manual.

If you will click on the'sticky' at the start of this thread entitled 'this old pot', open it and scroll down to 'plumber's pots', then scroll down to the post by 'shaggist', you will find all the instructions on how to operate your furnace.

I posted the instructions about a year ago, as several members have the pots, but don't know the operating procedures. It will melt 30 lbs of WW in about 10 minutes.
