Folks,
We have a member that has some needs that we are going to help with - with all of your help of course!

Hi
The last several months have not been kind to my wife and I so I will be selling some stuff over the next couple of weeks.
...
(snipped by obssd1958)
...
For almost a year I have a 3 inch by 5 inch spot that looks like a major infection or a dead spot on my leg, in December it started growing and the DR. wanted me to have a doppler scan for blood clots done. I never heard back from him, all I heard from them was a bill for $1400.00 so I didn't go back again. Well 2 weeks ago it started growing again so I went back and saw a different doctor in the same clinic and he wanted me to have a doppler scan again. I told him it was done in December but they couldn't find the results of that one so I had to do it again. Long story short I do not have blood clots but do have almost 5000 dollars in bills and still have the problem with my leg and I go to a spe******t in 4 weeks. I have no insurance so I will be selling some stuff to get all these bills paid.

There will be more in the next week or so. I will have to go thru my molds and see what other items I can come up with. I maybe selling some guns also.
Sorry about the long post, I can get pictures of these items if your interested.
and

I have to come up with $1500 dollars asap for doctors bills. So I am offering up 3 of my pistols for sale.
...
(snipped by obssd1958)
...
and

I would like to thank everyone for the prayers, and advice. All the advice everyone has given I have tried. I even sent a money order to the hospital and they returned it because it was't for the full amount. The December bill was sent to collections and it went to court and I lost. I did get it reduced by 400 dollars.
I got home last night and had a letter from my bank the collection company took all the money I had in my checking account and the bank bounced 2 checks because of it. I talked to the bank this morning and if and when they or any other checks come in I can get the money to them and they will cover them, they just told me not to deposit anymore money until I get this cleared up. I have sold a couple of my other guns so I have the money to cover them.
I know there are a lot of people a lot worse off than me,that is why I am trying to sell a couple of guns and get it taken care of myself.
I am not used to having to deal with this sort of thing and hope and pray I don't have to go thru it ever again.
Again thanks for the support
Bryan

Bryan did not ask for us to do this, it's just our way of doing what little we can, to make the world a better place!!

I have talked to 45nut, and he has given his blessing for this fundraiser.
The discussion leading up to this is here: http://www.castboolits.gunloads.com/showthread.php?t=118213

I will post updates in this thread, and links to any benefit auctions that you all come up with!

As soon as I talk to Bryan (bdbullets), I will post a goal, and a time frame - both here and the original thread.

In the meantime, for those that want to make a donation via paypal, my paypal address is:

Paypal: dcollingham at cableone.net (replace at with @)
please use the personal option, gift, so they don't charge me to get the money! (And please put "for Bryan" and your handle, in the notes!)

Checks and money orders:
Don Collingham, Jr
12165 W. Keates Dr.
Boise, Idaho 83709

As before - I promise that every dime that is donated to Bryan, makes it to him!!

As one who has had medical issues (hardcore diabetic) reach down his throat, grab my rectum and turn me inside out, I can understand the situation. I lost a business, home, and just got over the bankruptcy. Many helped me through, now's my chance to help pay it forward.

Folks,
I talked to Bryan tonight, and as you might imagine, he is touched, thankful, and humbled, by your willingness to help.
The first thing we need to accomplish, is to get the immediate needs taken care of, and get that $1500 off his back. Let's see if we can get that done before next Friday, the 10th of June.
He will be going to a specialist next Tuesday, and we should have an idea of what the future needs are, after that visit. We can then decide on a further course of action.

Thank you all so very much!

Here's a twist... on one of the auctions listed above:

"I'm in for $50.
And I've already sent (paypal gift - and I paid the fee) the money to the fund!
Golly, if someone outbids me, the fund will receive double - I dare you!"

Either way, it's a win.
If I win the auction, I get some useful stuff.
If I get outbid, the high bidder gets the goods, the funds gets double paid.

Everybody wins.
Let's keep it going.
Bob

Update: I've been outbid already, so the fund is in for at least double.
Let's hope all the auctions do as well.

Second update: I did indeed get outbid. And he did the same thing - sent in the funds.
Now we need a third bidder so we can sell this stuff a third time!

Howdy all!

I have posted links to all of the benefit auctions and sales (that I know of!), in the first post of this thread. I have also put the end time and date, so you can see where you should go right away! Just click on the descriptions, and it should take you right to the auction, or sale, thread. Put in your bid, and when you win, so does Bryan!

Our paypal balance right now - 5:30 PM MST 6-5-11 - is $1105.00.

Remember, even after we take care of the initial $1500, we will still have some work to do. We should have the rest of the game plan, by Wednesday, 6-8-11.

To everyone who has donated so far, and all of those who have sent their best wishes and prayers for Bryan - Thank you, from the bottom of my heart. You make me VERY proud to be a part of this family!!!

An update on my leg.
I was referred to a specialist out of Lincoln Nebr. He goes to Geneva on Mondays and I saw him monday morning.
As soon as he looked at my leg he told me what it is. He then went on to tell me some of the other problems I was haveing with it and asked me if he was right. He hit everything that has been going on with it for the last year right on.
The problem is with the Lymphatic vessels in the infected area. They are plugged up and pretty much destroyed. It has turned my skin dark red to black. He told me the color and hardness ( it is as hard as a rock) is caused by the iron the blood has deposited in the plugged vessels. He had a name for it but I can't pronounce it much less spell it.
He went on to tell me there is no cure for it and the hard spots will always be there and if not treated will continue to spread and can cause a lot more trouble if left unchecked. It is treatable and controlable with daily medication.
for the next 2 months I have to take an oral antibiotic to get the infection under control and an antibiotic cream to stop the surface infection. I see him again August 1st. and if infections have cleared up he will get me on what I need to keep it under control, he wouldn't tell me what that will be, he wants to get the infection stopped first.
I was going to cancel the apointment Monday until you guys stepped in with your help. I was so down about everything that had happened the last couple of months with the spots on my legs getting bigger and spreading down my leg towards my foot and then getting sued for the first part of bill and more bills coming in with no way to pay them, and what the doctor was having me do didn't change anything except cost me more money for prescriptions that didn't do any good.
I WOULD LIKE TO THANK EVRYONE FOR THE PRAYERS AND THE FINANCIAL HELP YOU HAVE GIVEN. I CANNOT TELL YOU HOW IT MAKES ME FEEL WHAT EVERYBODY HAS DONE FOR ME.
THANK YOU ALL AGAIN
Bryan

Monday, or Tuesday, (depends on when my bank credits the paypal transfer), I will be sending a money order for the full amount owed, to the creditor who got the judgement against Bryan. That will end their claim, and remove any immediate threat to his bank account.
As soon as Bryan gets his billing from the specialists that he saw this past Monday, I will post a total, to see him out of this mess.

Just a quick update and a big THANK YOU EVERYBODY.
I am now on the second day of taking a full dose of very strong antibiotics. I made it thru the first 3 days of half dose's without too many problems. For about an hour after I take them I better be setting down or because feel like I am goig to pass out. He told me that was normal and my system will get used to them after a week or so, I hope so I don't like that feeling.
I would like to thank everyone here for all the prayers, thoughts and the donations, I cannot describe how it makes me feel.

Update:

As of this morning, we are at $2685.61 for the total collected. I mailed a money order for 1333.52 to the creditor that had the judgement against Bryan, so he can use his checking account again. That should be there by the first of next week. I sent it by Certified mail, so we will know when they get it!!
Not including the bill from the specialist that he saw a week ago Monday, he has another almost $2000 in medical bills and costs related to this.
I talked to Bryan today, and all we are waiting on for a final goal, is the bill from the specialist.
Right now, we are over $1300 towards whatever that total is.
I'll post here, as soon as I know.

Thank you all for your help and generosity!!

I got the release of judgement and the release of garnishment today. I would like to extend a big THANK YOU to everyone who helped me out and are continuing to help me out of this mess.
Without you guys I would not have gone to the specialist until I got these bills caught up and by then the damage to my leg would have been much worse.
The antibiotics seem to have stopped, or at least slowed down, the spreading and the swelling is starting to go down. I go back for a checkup Aug. 1st. and if the infection is gone he will let me know what the next step is then to keep it under control.
THANK YOU ALL AGAIN

I am currently at Long Island, for my son's wedding. I just found out that paypal has limited my account. They will let me withdraw funds, but not accept any more. I will be back home by Tuesday, and will hopefully get this fixed then. (They think that I was selling the handguns in bdbullets original thread.)
I'll let you all know what's up, as soon as I know...

I'm back, and I have good news from paypal - They have re-instated my account, with full privileges.
I ended up talking to 2 very nice people that were very apologetic, and helpful. After reviewing my account, they found that I broke no rules, so the limitations were lifted. At no time was the money for bdbullets benefits, in jeopardy of being lost or locked up.
I will post again tonight with an update on totals and bills paid!!!!!!!

Thank you all for your help so far!!

I have been sending the addresses and amounts of my Dr. bills to Don and I think they have all been paid. The only one that has sent me anything ( besides the jusdgment is settled) is the Nebr. Heart Institute saying my bill there has been paid. The others I have not got any bills, and if I still owed them money I am sure I would have gotten bills for July by now.
As far as my leg I am not sure if it is getting better or not. I have called the Doc a couple of times in the last month, frist the anitibiotic is not having a very good effect on my digestive system. He told me as long as I am not passing any blood it should be fine and my system should get used to it, it still hasn't got used to it. Thursday I developed a inch by inch and a half area where the skin broke open into a big sore. I called him on it and he told me to watch for infection but it should heal up with the the ointment that I have been putting on, if not better by thursday to call him back and set up an earlier appointment. It seems to be healing up pretty good. I go back to him August 1st and I will post an update after I see him again.

Hi Guys!

Here is the update that I was hoping to put up a couple of days ago. We are still waiting to find out what the bill is from the specialist, but I have sent payment for all of the other bills that Bryan provided for me. The checks for those have all cleared, so they should be paid in full.

We have collected $2939.61 for Bryan, since we started.
I have paid out $2416.52 in Doctor and hospital bills.
This leaves us a balance of $523.09 in the bank.

I talked with Bryan tonight, and suggested that as soon as we get the bill from the specialist, we would work to pay that off, and then call the fundraising a success. He agreed, and expressed his thanks for everything that you all have done for him.

I'll post back in this thread as soon as we know what we need yet.

Thank you all, very much!!

Don

Bryan, my sister-in-law has issues with side-effects of medicine that cause her digestive issues as well. The best suggestion I have heard and what seems to help her be less miserable is to eat yoghurt with active cultures. The more 'happy things' that you have in your gut the less discomfort you should be suffering.

God bless you and the folks on this board who have helped cover your medical bills. I have simular issues with my legs and thankfully have excellent medical coverage from work. This is an excellent example of a community that pulls together and helps one another.

I will have to try that. I am willing to try anything. I have 2 weeks to go before I see the DR again. Thnaks

You can get probiotics in active yeast culture yogurt, in probiotic drinks, and in probiotic pills. always use them when on antibiotics. The antibiotics are non-discriminatiory, they kill all the bugs, good and bad. We do need to replace the good ones.

Check with the doctor's office before you do that. Not many years ago dairy products were claimed to decrease the efficiency of antibiotics. But the active culture yoghurt was recommended after a course of antibiotics to replace the good bacteria which had been wiped out. Depending on the exact drug, this may not apply - but better to check than decrease the effect.

Good luck.

I was just happy to help ya out Brian, good to hear all those bloody bills are being sorted out.

Jeez, we all should have just booked him a ticket to Australia, you could have stayed at my place mate. Then just wheel you on in to the hospital down here. Fixed for free.

Your prescriptions would cost you the grand total of $5.40.

Good advice with the probiotics, however, start them when you have finished your antibiotics course.

Maybe ask your Doc about a medication called Colofac, its for irritable bowel. I had a mate that was on antibiotics for 4 months, his guts were giving him hell. This medication helped sort his gut out.

All the best mate.

FIRST OFF I WOULD LIKE TO THANK EVERYONE HERE WHO HELPED ME OUT WITH ALL YOUR PRAYERS, MONEY, AND AUCTION ITEMS. WITHOUT ALL YOUR HELP I WOULD HAVE STOPPED GOING TO THE DOCTORS AFTER THE LAST VISIT TO THE CLINIC IN HEBRON, WHEN THEY COULDN'T TELL ME ANYTHING.

I went to see the doctor this morning and the news was better than I expected.
I didn't think the meds were doing anything but he told me otherwise. He said the infection around the area was gone, even better than he thought it would be. He told me to keep taking the antibiotic till it is gone, about 2 more weeks worth, and to keep putting the cream on the patch for 4 weeks after I am done with the antibiotics. Then just keep an eye on it (he showed me what to look for around the spot) and as long as I don't see an infection coming back I don't need to go back.
He said someday it will pop up again, but until it does I don't need to see him again (made my day). When it does start up again it will just be the same treatment again, very minor as far as I am concerned. He checked me over for any signs of skin cancer and did not find any.
I was very happy with the way the visit turned out. He told me the big spots on my leg will always be there, the damage cannot be reversed, but they shouldn't get any bigger now as long as the infection does not come back.
Thank you all again
Bryan

Outstanding BD!

You may want to start researching info on herbs and nutrition to start with and keep your immune system in top shape. Modern medicine helped with the heavy healing, now nature can do the rest.
