I'm using the Lee Universal Rifle Charging Die in conjunction with the Deluxe Lee Powder Measure. I use it with 308 Win., 30-06, and 7 X 57 mm right now.

It is amazing quick and accurate with the powders that I've used so far. Currently, I have the measure set to throw 7.7 grs. of International Clays for my 7 X 57 mm.

This 7 X 57 mm group speaks for itself with the use of the powder charging system :

Here is a " mini - movie " showing the Charging die and Lee Powder measure in use with the 7 mm Mauser ( I have changed the operation of my measure, since this movie was made, see # 7 below for the latest and greatest ):

yup, I use one of the disk measures with mine, single or double disks depending on the load.

On either my Loadmaster or turret, they work great.

I've not used the " double disc " kit. I've given serious thought to getting one.

I really like this system.

You can charge 50 cases with this system very quickly.

For anyone that buys a Universal Rifle Charging Die new, once you un-package it , the charging die will have oils inside it. Those oils must be removed with a good spaying and cleaning with aerosol brake cleaner. I don't know if I helped it or now, but I took the internal parts and polished them with a piece of 800 grit paper until they were mirror smooth. Then I coated the internal parts with a fine film of graphite powder. Powder slides through mine now like water running through screen wire.

Once the parts are oil free, the measure will work well with the Universal Charging Die.

Thanks,

Ben

I've used these with the double disk kit with .223 loads for sometime, it works very, very nice.

I have the first model Auto Disk with the upgrade kit riser and elastomer cutoff and double disk kit too. Spring return is automatic with mine and I see you pull a chain. I have never used mine on a single stage press, but it works great on the Lee Classic Cast Turret.

Ben you need you a little spring from Home Depot. Attach the spring to your board there and then attach your pull chain to the spring. It will reset for ya each time you lower the ram. I do the same thing right now with my ProAuto Disc on my Dillon 650. I will post a pic later this afternoon to show ya..

Here is a video showing the Lee Measure actuated by a spring. Works 101 %
perfect every time. The long spring allows a smoothly actuated movement of the disk and no jerking or slamming of the disc. I picked a spring that had the correct amount of movement and offered the correct amount of resistance so that a case neck would not be buckled or damaged by the actuation of the measure. I'm pleased !

I enjoy shooting plinking loads in my CF rifles, this is " THE WAY " to quickly throw accurate and unifrom powder into each cartridge case. Of course, this won't work with powders like IMR-4350 or IMR -4831 in large doses like 50 grs. +

Today, I'm throwing 7.7 grs. of International Clays, works PERFECT with this powder and charge weight.

If you'd like to see the measure operate with the spring , here it is :
