Anybody have a load for this Ideal 287221 { 120 gr. } plain base in a 7mm-08 ? This is a old one piece mold, handles and blocks made together.
Using air cooled WW, how hard could I push it before leading? Kimber M84 22"barrel.
Need a plinking load and a deer hunting load, although being plain base could be wishing on the hunting load? What ya'll think?
Thanks

Yes, ............. 7.7 grs. of International Clays

Not certain your plain based mold will give you a high velocity
deer killing load ? ?

See # 23 in this link :

Ok, got a question. Is this mold for 8mm instead of 7mm? The reason I ask is it drops from the mold @ .2895 - .290 with ACWW. This is WAY to big for my gun, it's a tight .284 maybe .283. By the time I size it to .284 there is hardly any lube groove left.
Thanks

The groups in the above link were fired with a .2862" dia. cast bullet in the 7 X 57 mm

Why do you feel you must size to .284 " ? ?

I'd bet right now that you'd get better accuracy in your rifle at .286 " than you will at .284".

Your mould is for the older mil-spec barrels like mine, FN '98 dated 1940, 0.285/0.290. It should fit most any small ring also. An 8 m/m mould usually drops around 0.321/0.323 although the very early ones had a 0.318 barrel.
