No reason it won't work. I'd use a pretty good shot of Unique. I've shot lots of them out of a .38/55./beagle

I used to stack 3 in my 375Win. Haven't tried one yet in the H&H. Nothing like using an elephant gun for squirrel !

Tried a #0 buck in the 7.62x39 with 4gr of unique last week. A little light, but more accurate at 25 yards (iron sights) than Winchester white box. Unique may get a bit dirty with light loads. I'm trying BE next.

My favorite grouse/ptarmigan/rabbit load for my M70 .375 H&H is a .375 RB lightly coated with LLA over 4 gr of Bullseye (no wad or filler). Velocity is 895 fps and it will shoot into 1 1/2" at 50 yards all day long.

Bigger is better. I've done a fair amount of playing with RBs in various calibers and strongly prefer balls of a size that will just thumb press into a fired case. For a .375, a .380 ball would be about right. Keep the velocities down in the 800-1000 fps range because the limited bearing surface strips easily. Practical range seems to be 25-35 yards. By 50 yards, accuracy has been pretty abysmal.

The oversize ball arrangement Leftoverdj mentions is the best, but you all are missing out on the correct powder. That would be WW231 as it produces very good 75 yd, accuracy.
