I bought a new Ruger LCP and went to the range to see how it would shoot cast bullets.
The load was Winchester case,Winchester small pistol primers, 3.2 grains Hodgdon Universal Clays,102 grain Lee Round Nose, lubed with Gar 50/50 lube, sized to .356.OAL .950".
The pistol fired every round fine. I shot 50 rounds .
Recoil was not heavy.
Accuracy was good considering I am 63 years old and the sights are almost non existent.
Shooting was at about 10 yards, off hand.
Gun shot to point of aim,no jams, etc.
I now have a nice small lightweight carry pistol.

I put a little white paint on the front sight of mine. It helped out quite a bit as I couldnt hardly see the front sight at all. Nice little pistol. I carry mine every day.

I have a Ruger LCP that shoots the lee 102g sized .356, with 2.7g of Bullseye. Goes "bang" every time unlike my Smith Bodyguard 380ACP!

A small bottle of nail polish does wonders for a front sight. It is removable, easy to apply and you can get a wide variety of colors.

I have not started loading for the .380 yet, but I found a box of Ultramax .380 115 LRN ammo at a local gun shop and mine gobbled those up just fine.

Agreed, I use Testor's modeling paint in the Day-glo colors orange, green, yellow, and bright white.

My LCP has been perfect with j-words, but I haven't quite gotten around to shooting cast in it quite yet.

Did you guys that shoot .356 sized bullets have leading problems? I slugged my barrel on my LCP and it measured .3575. So I size at .358.

Wifes bersa .380 measured .3570.

I tried lee 105 swc and the feed well for the LCP but not the bersa. So now I load RanchDogs 100 grain bullet on top of 3 grains of win231/hp38 cci 500 primer in starline case. Cycles well and is a nice shooting round at least in the bersa. I don't think anything will really make the lcp "pleasant" to shoot.
