Guys i bought a mold here awhile ago here from a member .went to cast and got some pitted looking boolits .No rust in mold but dosent seem smooth it's a wc mold 4 banger .I tryed to remove the handles so i could soak mold easier and one of the screws is BROKEN what to due I wasnt very happy thanks dave [smilie=b:

Sorry to hear that. Most folks here are honest to a fault.

Sounds like a dirty mold & cleaning should help. If your not set up to remove a broken screw you could send it off to Oregon.

You could spary the mould with Brake cleaner or soak it in a tall can with acetone. either way you don't have to remove the handles.

When done with a casting session and it is going to be a while before you use it again. Spray it with Pleadge (yep furniture polish) you can wipe most of it off, you won't get it all, and you don't have to clean the mould when you want to use it again. Heat it up and go back at it. By the time the mould comes up to temp (one or 2 cycles) all the pledge will be gone from the cavities.
