Just need to make the receiver a little bigger, fab some custom magazines, work out the upper issues and clear it with ATF. Piece of cake!

Try adding a CM2037 to your AR. You can make wads for the 37mm shells with plastic 35mm film canister tops and a disk of plywood cut with a hole saw tool on a drill press. The shells can be loaded with 100 grains of Pyrodex and 3 ounces of aluminum roofing nails. A nice homebrew close range Beehive round. Makes a great civilian indoor defense weapon if you are ignoring the law during an anarchy breakout. The load will pattern 5 feet in diameter across a 12 foot room so there will be collateral damage.

Don't ask how I know all about this.

You can buy adapters to mount a pump shotgun (probably an auto, too) underneath your AR-15, and there are already a (very) few 12-ga hi-cap semi-autos out there. Problem is, ATF wants to regulate anything like that, like they recently did with the Saiga-12.

I was wondering, idly, about a 410. Siaga has shotguns covered pretty well though.

The CM2037 is a smooth bore flair launcher and ATF unregulated to purchase or own and classified as a non gun. Ammo type is regulated legally to signalling rounds but the cases are loadable and use 209 shotgun primers.

Xfoxfshogo:
What these fellow are trying to say is. 12 gage does not fit in an AR action. So to alter , actually you’d have to build it from scratch, an AR action you’d need a FFL license to manufacture. Plus the permits for the individual gun. After you were done you’d have a *** of a shotgun. Just buy an 870 pump with extended mag tube. Spend the $money$ you’ll save on women and whiskey.

I really do like the idea, but as others have already stated it will probably not be economically feasible.

If one were to do this I would start with real Siaga mags and take a good look at the Bennelli inertia type system for simplicity/reliability in a semi auto without the gas system mess.

It would certainly complicate things but being able to change gauges and possibly use rifle cals. by changing uppers would be a great plus.

I just did a little research as I do like this idea. It maybe feasable to sell something like this, take a look at what people are paying to have their Siagas modified. http://www.tromix.com/saiga.htm
I still think this would be a niche market, but some people buy bottled water, Bennellis, FNP90s etc.

Saw a video the other day on youtube where ATI was testing a 12 gauge on an ar platform made by the same company that made the 410 uppers for an ar.
I think this is the video. Its at least 3/4 in.

Watched the vid. That wasn't an AR platform. Just styled to look AR. I 'd call it a total piece of junk foreign made abomination.

For heaven's sake! The rim on a 12 gauge shell is larger than the OD of the bolt lugs on an AR15. The shells won't fit through the mag opening naked, much less with a magazine around them. You would have to make a new firearm from scratch.
