OAL for LEE .452 230 gr TC + Springfield Armory XD?

What OAL are you using for your .452 Lee 230gr TC boolits in a Springfield Armory XD?

Short.............1.18 to 1.20 depending on the year it seems and also if a person is shooting as cast (larger than .452). They have short throats on the barrels. The boolit itself is rather short in comparison to others so it's not as big of an issue as some may think just start at the minimum published powder charges and work up.

I tried 1.22 and 1.21 today and neither worked. I wanted to short circuit the trial and error method.

Its a rare day that anything is pickier than a CZ, but I think the SA qualifies.

Yeah, the XD is picky about full diameter front drive bands especially if they are over .452 and full diameter or fat ogives that are seated out much past the mouth of the brass.

Try the "thumbnail" thickness seating method. Sould produce OAL of about 1.18"-1.19".
