I bought subject mould yesterday at a Muzzleloading shop here in NE PA. It had been on the shelf since 1996 and it is a discontinued design. It is supposed to cast a 215gr semi wadcutter GC bullet. I'm thinking it was for the .357 Maximum but can't find anything in my Lyman catalogs I have on hand. Anybody out there
have subject mould? I don't have a .357 Max but thought it might work in my .35
caliber rifles i.e. 35 Rem, 358 Win, 35 Whelen. Can anybody help?

It does indeed work well in .35 caliber rifles. Here's an article I wrote up on it back in the early '90s:

Thanks Mr. Fryxell!! Your article has now become part of my reference library. I'm
anxious to get this mould up and running. I'm sort of a .35 caliber nut as I have a
.350 Magnum, 2 .35 Whelens, three .358 Winchesters, three .35 Remingtons, and
two .357 Magnum rifles plus assorted .357 and .38 handguns. Presently I use the
following .35 moulds: RCBS 35-200 212gr FNGC, Lyman 358318 252gr RNGC, Lyman 358156 164gr FNGC, and Lyman 358429 178gr PB SWC. All weights listed
are cast of WW metal with 8oz of tin and 4oz of antimony per 8lb pot. So far my
"favorite" is the 358156 for both of my .357 Magnum rifles. I drive them to the mid
1900fps with superb accuracy. The sweet spot has been right at 1750fps with Acccurate #9 powder or Alliant 2400. My .35 Whelens will get the first opportunity
with the 358627 bullets.

Ben:
I have used that bullet quite a bit in my 356 Winchester. Haven't tried it yet in the 35 Whelen but will get a roundtoit eventually. I had mine converted to a HP and really like it.

Nice find. It was the Holy Grail for 35 shooters until we invented group buys. Mine worked well in the 356 and continues in the 357 Max. I have stuck with the RCBS 200 in the 358 but it is a mold I hope to always shoot in something.

Mine is from a GB that someone here chose to sell. Works great, I can turn out boolits in a big hurry with that 6 cavity mold!

It's fitting on Memorial Day to recall the late Dave Breen aka Neerb. His group buy 358627 mould was not delivered because he passed away...and left no heirs to claim it. It was posted in a site support auction and I got it.

Dave always sent the honcho some extra money to buy a cold one on him. In his memory, I went to my favorite saloon and told the story to my friend, Bobbi, the lady bartender...bought HER a drink and we toasted his memory. Later I took the mould to work and used the engraving tool to put his name on it.
