Everyone was chomping at the bit to get this mold. Now that you have it, lets see what it will do! Post pics, loads and rifle used.

I've had mine for a few days and in that time we had nearly 5" of rain.

These were posted in this thread http://castboolits.gunloads.com/showthread.php?t=115049. There you can read about my reloading project for 223 cast.

As of yesterday am I had my mold less than 24 hours and found that my Stevens 221 FB likes it with 15gn Reloader #7 and CCI small pistol primers. 100 yard 5 shot groups were hanging around an inch. Plenty good for hunting but not going to win any matches.
Those boolits were fired within an hour of their birth. They were quenched ww so should be harder today. Stage II of my testing will begin right after morning coffee.

Ruger 77/22 using 6gr IMR-4227 about 1" groups @ 100 yds. Sized to .224 with Lee push thru die and two light coats of LLA. It did not like them sized to .225 dia. And starlings at 80 yards, really do come apart!

Cartridge please?

If it was a Ruger 77/22 in a reloadable cartridge it had to be a 22 hornet.

Anything that dismantles starlings at 80 yds gets MY VOTE!!

First woodchuck about 75 yards taken in the rain. Little bugger was sitting in my garden looking at my broccoli plants. Raining to hard to do autopsy, but dead anyway. I like this little boolit.

I am looking forward to trying this bullet in my Ruger Hornet, too. We don't have many woodchucks around here, though. I have seen a prairie dog or two and some gophers. If I can come close to your results there might be a couple less.

As much as I like to shoot, I wish we had prairie dogs here.

Most ranchers would wish you to have them, too.

I chronograph-ed this little bugger today. In the 221 fireball with the 15gn Re#7 load it averaged 2700 fps.
In the 6" single six revolver in 22 ccm with 7gn H-110 it averaged 1400 fps. That is 100 fps over what I get with the heavier Lyman or RCBS boolit. I have chronograph-ed 22 LR from a 6" single six with the Federal hi vel bulk ammo and get 900 fps, and with the 40gn 22 mag 1300 fps. The same lR ammo in a rifle gets 1300 fps so this little #107 is bettering a 22LR from a rifle but from a 6" revolver in 22 ccm and is bettering the 22 wmr with same weight bullet by 100 fps. Oh and BTW I am shooting it in the revolver w/o gas checks.
I have not yet tried it in my 22ccm rifle as it is at Cooper Arms being repaired.
The rifle gets 2000 fps with the 7gn load and the 55gn boolits so I hope to see an increase with the little 107 design.

I have a few cast. Mayo jar full plus one pound cottage cheese container full. One pounder is all sized and lubed with LLA, ready to go down range. Well almost. How many do you think there are all together?

Using this new little gem from NOE today I set a new personal record, 3440 average FPS producing about 1.5moa accuracy. That is the fastest I have ever shot boolits and gotten usable accuracy. I got them to just over 3500 fps but accuracy went to about 3 moa.
This was with range scrap quenched from a hot mold and lubed with Lotak soft lube and gator checks. The rifle is a Stevens Mod 200 with an A&B 221 Fireball barrel.
A few of the better loads were,
16.7gn Mag Pro 300 @ 3422 fps average
16gn H-110 @ 3395 fps average
16.5gn H110 @ 3423 fps average
18gn WW-680 @ 3442 fps average
All loads used the cci #400 primer
Highest velocity went with 16.7 gn H-110 at 3510 fps but accuracy at about 3 moa was getting outside what I would call usable.
This is equal to the highest velocity I could find listed for the Fireball with an equal weight bullet from the Accurate Arms manual. Most other manuals barely break 3000 fps for the fireball with 40 gn bullets.
Swede you get a well done and a big thanks from me. I have been wanting to try this design for a long time and you made it possible. I think this new personal record is going to be hard to break!

This mold is a true pleasure to cast with! How much if any leading at those velocities? Are you going to back down or keep the velocity up? Are you looking for speed or accuracy? Personally, I'm trying to get the velocity up a bit more without blowing the accuracy. Shot a few H110 and 2400 test loads today just for velocity's. More testing tomorrow.

As long as I am able I will keep testing, thats the fun for me. Seems like when I find the ultimate load for a rifle it then just gets put away and not used.
I will keep a hand full of the 18gn WW 680 loaded as that was the most accurate on average at 3440 fps.
We have lot of new chicks ( baby chickens) running about and the Ravens are trying hard to have a share of them. Keeping the Fireball handy with a few of those rounds will make it interesting.
1.5 and even 2 moa is usable accuracy for such chores. Shots for such will rarely be much over 200 yards. The way they blow up water bottles aught to be colorful with ravens too.
There was no leading, that is nothing visible on a patch pushed through. The color of the bore is very faint grey/black. I did notice after about a dozen shots accuracy was dropping off. All it took to bring it back was one pass with a bore brush followed by a patch. The Lotak lube is working very well indeed. Probably better now that our weather has warmed up some to about the high 60s to low 70s. I was using the Lotak soft.

3440 fps and no leading, WOW! I guess I can start working up a hotter load.

You are in luck. There are some overruns. http://castboolits.gunloads.com/showthread.php?t=117474

After reading some on this thread I had to order one:grin:
