I'm wondering what to use as a flux for dissolving Antimony into an alloy. I'm also wondering if plumber's flux or electronics paste flux would be useful items for this just cause of their names. Actually they may be the same thing just packaged differently.

Any ideas?

The best idea is to purchase antimony already mixed with lead. Much less toxic to deal with. Check out Rotometals at the top of this page. ... felix

Antimony seems to alloy easier if broken into as small of pieces as possible and if the lead already contains some amount of tin. I have always used my usual flux of my daughters broken crayons and sawdust and it works just fine. Felix is onto something with picking up some super-hard from roto metals though...

Magnum shot is another way to get some antimony. Typically has 4 to 6% antimony and the balance lead. Rotometals' superhard has 30% antimony.
